The Edge, formally Edgewater Hospital, is an adaptive reuse of an existing hospital building into 155 loft apartments with 78 indoor parking spaces. The property was purchased from the City of Chicago to turn a depreciating and defunct old hospital into a stable new apartment asset located in a vibrant Chicago submarket. The improved project will consist of 155 luxury apartments with 20 studios, 99 one bedroom, 30 two bedroom and 6 three-bedroom units. The building will include green roofs, large amenity decks and indoor parking. All units will feature hardwood floors, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and in-unit washer/dryer. The City of Chicago is behind the project both financially and politically. It is a very prominent and important project for both the local alderman and mayor.
